14 Days until tip-off
|
Lakers |
1 |
They were already an unstoppable force, and nothing will even come close to slowing them down, especially with the addition of Ron Artest. |
|
Cavs |
2 |
This team won a league best 66 games last year. With Shaq in the paint, look for the Cavs to meet the Lakers in late May. |
|
Magic |
3 |
Double or nothing? Was spending all that money for Vince Carter worth it? They have a very good chance at returning to the NBA Finals. |
|
Celtics |
4 | If Garnett was 100% healthy, the Celtics would probably be ranked higher than four. Until now, they need to prove otherwise. |
|
Nuggets |
5 | They will return stronger than ever, looking to avenge their early playoff departures the past couple years. This squad could be a sleeper. |
|
Spurs |
6 | As long as Duncan and Manu stay healthy, this team could be dangerous. The addition of Richard Jefferson, Antonio McDyess and Dajuan Blair will certainly help. |
|
TrailBlazers |
7 | This young team will make be a serious contender next year with Rudy Fernandez and Brandon Roy leading them. |
|
Mavericks |
8 | I hate ranking them this low, but with such a strong West Coast, they will struggle a bit. They will make the playoffs (thanks to Marion and J-Kidd). |
|
Hornets |
9 | They will continue to be a force in the West Coast even though they lost Tyson Chandler. |
|
Sun |
10 | Under a new, first year head coach, I believe the Sun’s will return to the playoffs and Steve Nash will put up ridiculous double-doubles all winter. |
| Hawks | 11 | The Hawks certainly won’t do as well as last year, but they will return to the playoffs. |
| Raptors | 12 | Hedo Turkoglu. Im diggin’ it. |
|
Wizards |
13 | The Wizards will return to the playoffs all thanks to Gilbert “Habachi” Arenas. His health is a key instrument to this team’s success. |
|
Bulls |
14 | The spotlight is now on Derrick Rose. Will he be clutch? Yes. They return to the playoffs as one of the lower seeds. |
|
Jazz |
15 | The uncertainty about Boozer’s future is about as equal as my uncertainty about them making the playoffs. Luckily I have them as the 8 seed. |
|
Heat |
16 | I think this could be the first year in a while, where the Heat miss the playoffs. Dwyane Wade will be fun to watch however. |
|
Bobcats |
17 | I could see them making a run at the playoffs with Tyson Chandler holding down the paint. With some good coaching from Larry Brown, this team could be legit. |
|
Pistons |
18 | Nothing new in Motown. Ben Wallace isn’t the same, and Gordon and Villanueva won’t have a huge impact. |
|
Clippers |
19 | Baron Davis, Blake Griffin…they could be the real deal. |
| Rockets | 20 | Yao is out for the year, and I’m sure T-Mac will get injured too. Their franchise needs some redirecting. |
|
Thunder |
21 | Like I predicted before, the Thunder will finish with a winning record thanks to Durant’s monster year. Harden will also help out a lot. |
| 76ers | 22 | Iguodala and Brand will have a lot of work to do… |
| Warriors | 23 | This young team will improve over time….very….very…slowly. |
| Grizzlies | 24 | They’ll be fun to watch with Rudy, AI, Thabeet, Gasol, and OJ Mayo, but they won’t go far at all. |
| Pacers | 25 | Granger’s bold prediction of a play-off team fails. |
|
Timberwolves |
26 | Nothing but another long, cold winter for Kevin Love and the T-Wolves. Players to watch: Johnny Flynn and Wayne Ellington. |
|
Knicks |
27 | It seems as if they are more eager for July of 2010 than the ’09-’10 season. Mike D’Antoni: Make some cap room. |
| Bucks | 28 | Big shot Brandon Jennings will do nothing in helping this team. |
| Nets | 29 | At this point, they should just move to Brooklyn and hope for LeBron. |
| Kings | 30 | Haha |
